To maintain
that warm analog sound, the B-Free uses a tube type preamplifier. Triode
tubes are used because they provide the best linearity of all active devices,
and when they do distort, they produce a growl, characteristic of an old Hammond.
For its distinctive percussive sound, the B-Free uses a tube type percussion
circuit, incorporated into the preamp.
The preamp has enough output to drive a Leslie to full power. No additional
preamp is required between the B-Free and the Leslie.
